140 rooms, pool, spa, sauna, complete kitchens (with dishwashers), washer/dry-ers in units, free hi-speed Internet access in rooms, 3 conference rooms. A skinny 40-story building (only 4 units per floor) built in 1984 with giant rooms that are almost across the street from the beach. All the rooms above the 18th floor have tasty ocean views. (Even those below 18 are fairly good.) The rooms used to be lovely, but many owners seem to be sitting on the sidelines as the rooms wear. So many need updating that we had to remove their real gem rating for this edition. Too bad. Staff is good, and they don’t nickel and dime you here. Parking is free—even valet is free. No charge for room safes—even beach towels and beach chairs are there for you to take to the beach. (Too bad they charge you 75¢ for local calls.) This is a good place for families since there’s so much space in each unit. Lanais are large as well. 1/1s (ac-complished via a lock-off creating about 1,080 sq. ft. of living area) are $499–$599. 2/2s (1,241 sq. ft.) are $599–$959. We hope you got a better rate.
