226 rooms, pool, a conference room, coffee makers with free daily coffee, 3 restaurants. Two towers topping out at 18 floors built in the 1970s. Near the park and near the shore, so it's aptly named. Oddly, the deluxe ocean view rooms are more oriented to the park, while the ocean view rooms face the ocean head-on. There are no laundry facilities--you'll have to send it out. Connecting rooms available. Rooms are pretty small here. Discounts are the norm on rooms and the rate has come down from previous years. You're so close to the Sunset on the Beach movies shown on some weekends that you can watch them from your lanai. (Though you won't be able to hear them--like being frugal on an airline and opting out of the headphones.) Their brochure photo was either taken a long time ago or is conveniently cropped--it omits the giant resort that blocks all west-facing rooms. Renovations were planned at press time. Across the street from the beach. Rooms (200-315 sq. ft.) are $99-$259, suites (410 sq. ft.) are $209-$359.
