"Boy, do you ever know how to write books! My children, husband and I recently vacationed on Oahu and the Big Island and found your books to be invaluable. We loved your candid remarks and straight-forward directions. Life would be so much easier if there was an advice book like yours for everything. We purchased both Oahu and Big Island Revealed and consider them both awesome travel tools and an entertaining read. We will definitely recommend your books to anyone traveling to the "paradise" state. Oh Yeah, any tips on getting the red mud stains from he Manoa Falls trail out of your favorite shorts. Beautiful place!!"

639 rooms, pool, spa, free 24-hour fitness room, room service, valet-only parking, 3 restaurants, 10 shops, 24-hour business center, day spa, 7 conference rooms, coffee makers with free daily coffee, free room safes, free hi-speed Internet access, free Wi-Fi in lobby and pool areas, free local and long distance calls to mainland, lanais on most. Three buildings: the tallest is 17 stories. $110 million worth of renovations completed in 2009 have transformed a rather hectic place into a more peaceful resort. Many of the rooms were made larger by using some hallway space or taking out walls. The new decor has a Hawaiian feel with all the modern amenities. The Ocean Tower is worth the extra money here. The pool area can be very busy because some other Outrigger properties have access to it, but the beach is right in front of the resort. Their lobby offers a sit-down check-in rather than standing in long lines. Their Shorebird Restaurant is good. Parking is $30 (valet-only). Rooms facing the Waikiki Shore are uncomfortably close to that building, you can practically reach over and peel the paint off their walls. There are lots of Hawaiian cultural demonstrations, activities and nightly local big name entertainment. Lots of connecting rooms here. Rooms (340–405 sq. ft.) are $489–$789, suites (729–2,151 sq. ft.) are $789–$5,529.
