661 rooms, pool, 2 restaurants, Nintendo, lanais (most rooms), poolside bar, a conference room, room service (from Chili's Restaurant), free local and long distance calls to U.S. and Canada. An 18-story tower (however, the elevator stops at the 17th floor) from 1973. Renovated in 2004. Views improve with height--but not much. Rooms are clean and simple. Your best view is from the pool of the nearby Miramar's tile mosaic. Tiny showers--good for rinsing your vegetables but not much else. It's fairly centrally located--three blocks from the beach. Rooms (264 sq. ft.) are $209, kitchenettes (280 sq. ft.) are $219-$229--worth the upgrade. Kitchenette combos are $379. These are a standard room and a kitchenette with a $1 toll charge to use the connecting door. Suites (340 sq. ft.) are $239-$489.
