The best selling guide to O'ahu... Oahu Revealed "My wife and I just got back from a 6 night 7 day adventure of a lifetime. Every step of the way was guided by your books for the Big Island and Oahu. Your guides kept us out of the tourist traps and into the more enjoyable stuff that we wanted to experience...We truly had an enjoyable time with our week in the Islands. We hope to come back in a few years and bring our children and it will be your guides that will help us navigate through another wonderful experience...Thank you again for a wonderful guide." |
Ohana Waikiki East (800) 462-6262 or (808) 922-5353 150 Kaiulani Ave.
441 rooms, pool, spa, free fitness room, 3 restaurants, 2 conference rooms, free room safes, coffee makers with free coffee daily, free hi-speed Internet access in room, free Wi-Fi in lobby and by pool, free local and long distance calls to U.S. and Canada, 24-hour business center, lanais on most. A 19-floor tower built in 1972 that is well-maintained but looking dated. As an Ohana hotel, they cater more to families. Rooms are pretty small and tight. (City-view rooms are a bit bigger and worth the extra $10.) The showers are tinydrop the soap and you gotta open the door to pick it up. The walls don’t block much sound, and if you get a room ending in 00, you may be forced to continuously hear the elevator mechanism. It’s two blocks to the nearest beach (Waikiki Beach Center). Parking here wins the bonehead award for design. If you keep driving to the top looking for a space (which is $20), there is literally no place to turn around. Connecting rooms available. Rates (which few pay since they have lots of discounts) are $269$289 (240 sq. ft.), kitchenettes (165 sq, ft.) are $289, suites (375480 sq. ft.) are $309$699. Overall, not a bad place if you get a discount, especially since it is smack in the middle of Waikiki. |
