The best selling guide to O'ahu... Oahu Revealed "My wife and I just got back from a 6 night 7 day adventure of a lifetime. Every step of the way was guided by your books for the Big Island and Oahu. Your guides kept us out of the tourist traps and into the more enjoyable stuff that we wanted to experience...We truly had an enjoyable time with our week in the Islands. We hope to come back in a few years and bring our children and it will be your guides that will help us navigate through another wonderful experience...Thank you again for a wonderful guide." |
Ohana East (800) 462-6262 or (808) 922-5353 150 Kaiulani Ave.
445 rooms, pool, spa, fitness room, 3 restaurants, shops, 3 conference rooms, free room safe, coffee makers with free coffee daily, free hi-speed Internet access in room, free local and long distance calls to U.S. and Canada, 24-hour self-service business center. A 19-floor tower built in 1972 and renovated in 2004. As an Ohana hotel, they cater more to families. Rooms are pretty small and tight. (City view rooms are a bit bigger and worth the extra $10.) The showers are tiny--take a deep breath, and you might force the door open. The walls don't block much sound, and if you get a room ending in 00, you may be forced to hear the elevator mechanism continuously. It's two blocks to the nearest beach (Waikiki Beach Center). Rates (which few pay since they have lots of discounts) are $269-$279 (around 240 sq. ft.), kitchenettes are $279, suites (375-480 sq. ft.) are $299-$699. Overall, not a bad place if you get a discount. Parking here wins an award for "most horribly designed lot." There is no place to turn around at the end if it is full and no stairs to get you to the lobbyyou have to walk where the cars drive. |
