592 rooms, heated pool, bbqs. Unlike the other Makaha resorts we described, this one's not on a beach. It's up in Makaha Valley next to a steep mountainside. There are 10 buildings averaging 16 stories on 14 acres. Many units are owner-occupied, and others are available only from the owners. The phone number above is a good rental agent with some vacation rentals available. Studios have pull-down Murphy beds to maximize space. No room safes. The 1/1s have a strikingly wide wall of glass doors, creating an impressive view of Makaha Valley and the ocean far in the distance. Overall, the units are roomy and comfortable. Studios (515 sq. ft.) are $75-$85, 1/1s (684 sq. ft.) are $80-$95. Normally a one-week minimum. A nice place, but not as likely to get your juices flowing as Hawaiian Princess.
