51 rooms, free coffee makers upon request, valet parking, conference room, restaurant, free room safes, hi-speed Internet access in rooms. A 12-story tower separated from the ocean by other buildings. Most of the rooms have good Diamond Head views--hence the name. Ocean views (if you have one) are not as striking. The ambiance is minimalist Asian. The rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant is dinner only. Parking is $15 (valet-only), but local calls are a ridiculous $2 (the highest price we found in all of Waikiki--you can almost hire a messenger for that price!). This used to be a W Hotel, but it is now run by Castle Resorts, so we are not sure which direction it is going at this point. They still have the Sheraton's Heavenly Beds with down pillows, cordless phones, etc., the same as when it was a W. Rack rates feel really high to us for a resort that's not on the beach, has no pool and is far from the heart of Waikiki. Connecting rooms available. Try and go for 5th floor or higher, if possible. The 3rd floor rooms are level with the garage roof--not a very attractive view. Rooms (455 sq. ft.) are $420-$580, penthouse suite (2,544 sq. ft.) is $2,500. Hope you did much better.
