The best selling guide to O'ahu... Oahu Revealed "We've been meaning to email you since we got home from our trip to Oahu in February and finally, we took the time! We'd never visited the island before so we went out to search for a guidebook. Loved yours immediately because of the beautiful photography but what was written inside was the most helpful and honest reviews and advice we'd found... We are going back in July and your book will be with us the entire time! When we hit a different island eventually, we'll be buying your guide for that one too. Thank you." |
Kai Aloha Hotel
(808) 923-6723 235 Saratoga Rd.
10 rooms and free local calls. A 3-story (no elevator) 1950s building with no non-smoking rooms. This is a tiny, family-run resort that is simple and clean. The furnishings are old--perhaps the originals in some cases--but they're in good shape. You get the feeling it hasn't changed much since it was built--they even have stove-top coffee percolators in rooms. But, hey, you ain't paying for the Halekulani. Parking is $36 for a 3-day pass at Ft. DeRussy Park across the street. No room safes. Studios (which have kitchenettes and two twin beds) are $80, 1/1s are $90-$135 (depending on the number of people in your party). If you want less street noise, ask for a unit at the back of the building. About 2 blocks to the beach. |
