"We just returned from a trip to Oahu and Kauai to visit family. We had taken 'The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook' with us on a friend's recommendation. We didn't get the Oahu book since our family lives there. Well, after the Kauai book became our bible for a week (we commonly refer to it now as 'the good book') we bought the Oahu book for the family as a gift. They found all kinds of places they had never heard of!

40 beds, 5 private rooms, hi-speed Internet available (and computers) for an extra fee, shared kitchen, TV lounge, outdoor garden patio, coin-op laundry. Dorms are $25 or $28 (non-members) a night, and studios with a bath are $58 or $64 (non-members). No phone (other than a pay phone), no a/c (it does get hot--at least they have fans). Parking is $5--first come, first served. Sheets supplied, byot (bring your own towels). It's a clean place and well-run. Bring your own padlock for the lockers which will hold laptops. They loan out beach gear. This is a more laid back hostel than Waikiki Beachside. No smoking, no alcohol allowed and dorms are not co-ed. 7-day maximum stay. Not available to O'ahu residents. A couple of minutes walk to the beach.
