The best selling guide to O'ahu... Oahu Revealed "Aloha and mahalo for the fantastic Oahu guide! It was a fantastic help-mate and led me to make the best choices for our week long vacation. Of course, we will have to return as there was so much missed, but we had a great time...Never heard any praise for a guide book from my husband before, so was doubly impressed." |
The Breakers (800) 426-0494 or (808) 923-3181 250 Beachwalk ![]() 64 rooms, pool, restaurant, free Wi-Fi around the pool, kitchenettes, bbq, lanais on upper floor. An old-time, two-story low-rise from 1954 that has lots of character. It’s pretty inexpensive and has a fairly tranquil Japanese feel and has changed very little over the years. It’s in one of the denser sections of Waikiki, and the rooms are comfortably sized. Most of the staff go back a long time. Parking is free but limited7 stalls, first-come, first-serve each day, or you can park across the street in a lot for $16. Free coffee at the front desk most of the day. There’s a Japanese teahouse on the premises, and tea services take place a few days a week. It’s two blocks from the beach, has kitchenettes and a slow pace. Units facing the pool are best. The decor is clean, but fixtures are old, probably original. No elevators. Rooms based on two persons (360 sq. ft.) are $140$160. Suites (480 sq. ft.) are $195$260 and aren’t worth the upgrade unless you need space for more people, as they can accommodate up to 5. We were told everyone pays rack rates here. |
