81 rooms, pool, free Wi-Fi in lobby and rooms, microwave, fridge, coffee makers with free coffee daily, 40-inch flat screen TVs, free ground-to-order coffee and tea 24/7 in lobby, free room safes, free local calls, 24-hour business center, bbq. Continental breakfast is free in the lobby at this 10-story building from the 1970s. This is a green resort, but not the way you're thinking. We mean it's bright lime green when you enter the lobby and in the modern decor of the rooms. You'll either find it cool and refreshing or you'll hate it. You won't get much of a tan by the tiny pool that's shaded most of the time by neighboring buildings, but the patio is large and breezy. The rooms are small, but they made good use of the space. You may notice a large stuffed gorilla dressed in a straw hat sitting quietly in the lobby. We're told he is the third mascot, as the other two have been stolen and have been spotted in the passenger seats of cars roaming around O'ahu. (Perhaps someone uses them to qualify for the carpool lane.) Long walk to the beach. Best views are of the Ala Wai Canal. Valet-only parking is $22. Rooms (250-400 sq. ft.) are $235-$290, suites (650-1,000 sq. ft., but they don't feel it) are $325-$845.
