"First of all I would like to thank you for the best vacation I have enjoyed, ever! I am in the U.S. Navy, currently stationed at Pearl Harbor. After being stationed here for two and a half years, also taking multiple courses through Hawaii Pacific University, I personally felt I knew a lot about the Hawaiian Islands. Boy was I wrong!!! Your guidebook was recommended to me from believe it or not--your competitors!..."

61 rooms, 2 shops. This 12-story boutique hotel right across the street from Waikiki Beach Center is small by Waikiki standards. The resort has an expensive Euro-Chinese decor and lots of antiques, producing an overall opulent feel. Despite the central location, they manage to achieve an atmosphere that seems somewhat removed from the main part of Waikiki, producing a tranquil experience. Parking is $10 and is around the corner at the Waikiki Beach Tower. Rooms are small with only double and queen beds available, so they don't allow more than two people per room. Rooms with lanais come at the expense of the interior square footage, so only get a lanai if you really want one. If you want to be able to watch the torchlighting ceremony across the street at the beach from your room, pick a room on floors 3-5 facing the ocean. If you want your view to clear the crown of the large banyan tree across the street, you'll want floors 8 or above. There are 2 rooms on each floor that have no window and no lanai, but you can usually get around a 50% discount on these--a great deal given their location. No coffee makers, but continental breakfast is included with all rooms. No laundry facilities--you'll have to give it to the valet. Overall, a very nice resort with a great location; easy to recommend. Rooms (234 sq. ft.) are $200-$315. Suites (360 sq. ft.) are $340-$365.
