Update: Aqua Coconut Plaza closed on February 23, 2008 for multi-million dollar renovation project. It will re-open June 1, 2008 as the Coconut Waikiki Hotel.

80 rooms, pool, coffee makers only in the kitchenettes. Continental breakfast is free in the lobby at this 10-story building from the 1970s. Parking is valet only for $18 per day. You won't get much of a tan by the tiny pool that's shaded most of the time by neighboring buildings. The showers are pretty large here--the only thing about the rooms that feels big. Long walk to the beach. Rooms (250 sq. ft.) are $139, studios with kitchenette (they say it's 400 sq. ft., but they don't feel it) are $150-$160.
