93 rooms, pool, spa, sauna, Wi-Fi in lobby and pool areas, free hi-speed Internet access in rooms, free room safes, free continental breakfast, day spa, bbq. A 12-floor 1965 building that's been turned into a boutique hotel. The atmosphere is very tranquil: incense in the air, wind chimes by the nice pool, and Buddhas sprinkled about. Sort of a contemporary Thai/Asian feel. They really like apples here, and they're always free in the lobby. Because of the relatively small size, nothing feels too distant. Service is personalized, but some of the amenities are pricey here. Some rooms are pretty small but laid out well, so it's less of an issue. In our last edition we were very fond of this place, but our latest visit found it in need of some updating. The common areas still have some aspects of a Real Gem, but the rooms were too worn-looking to give the resort a gem rating for this edition. Some renovations were planned at press time. Rooms (170-215 sq. ft.) are $200-$215, studios (208-470 sq. ft.) are $225-$255. Suites (371-1,078 sq. ft.) are $285-$850. If you're staying on a lower floor, opt for a deluxe studio view facing the pool. 2 minute walk to the beach.
