1,142 rooms, pool, free fitness room, steam room, sauna, 3 restaurants, 5 shops, 24-hour business center, 8 conference rooms, valet parking, coffee maker with free coffee daily, free hi-speed Internet access in rooms, Wi-Fi in lobby, lanais on most. There are two towers--the 13-story Kona and the 36-story Waikiki. The resort was renovated in 2006 and rooms were sold off as a condotel, but decor is consistent and on our visit still looking fresh and clean. The room colors and furnishings are relaxing and modern, though not overly Hawaiian in feel, and the flat screen TVs are pretty small. If your room has no microwave, you may request one for free. The property is just outside Waikiki, next door to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Business travelers and convention attendees make up much of their customer base. (The convention center is very close by.) Rooms are smaller and less expensive in the Kona Tower and have no lanais, but you can open the sliding door and stand at the railing.
It's a pretty long walk into Waikiki and its beaches and restaurants, but it's also quicker when you're looking to hop on the freeway. In all, you need to decide
if the location trade-offs are worth it. Self-parking is $15, valet is $20. Rooms (245-335 sq. ft.) are $249-$329. Jr. suites (700 sq. ft.) are $729, suites (500-2,100 sq. ft.) are $429-$2,499.
