44 units, pool, bbq, free hi-speed Internet access in rooms and Wi-Fi in Ohana Room, shuffleboard, daily maid service. They call themselves the Mauian Hotel, but they have kitchens, so we'll consider them a condo. The whole place has a friendly, family feel. There's a mai tai party once a week (they bring the booze; you bring the pupus). Rooms are studios of around 300-400 sq. ft. No phones or tvs, except in the community Ohana Room where they serve free continental breakfasts and you can watch videos with everyone else or pick up a book from their library and head back to your room. They're right on wonderful Napili Beach, though views of it are oblique, even from the few oceanfront rooms. (But from the latter, the sound of the surf is lulling.) Rooms are old (built in the mid-'50s) but very clean. They used to be a Solid Gold Value, but the rooms were feeling tired on this visit and renovations were planned at press time. In all, a fair place to stay. Rates are $160-$255 and they often have lots of specials.
