12 units, daily maid, a/c, free laundry facilities, some have full kitchens, some have bbqs, free Wi-Fi, free room safes, free parking. These are adjacent to (and run by) Mama’s Fish House restaurant (where you get discounts), so you can expect attention to details, such as nice furnishings, fresh fruit and flowers upon arrival and use of beach gear. Located next to the tiny sand beach in front of Mama’s (which also has a tide-pool good for keiki when the surf’s not too high), rates in the non-oceanfront units are the best deal. Their two 1/1 cottages (550 sq. ft.) are nice and comfortable and are $225. 2/1s with a garden view (750 sq. ft.) are $275. The oceanfront cottages are two duplex buildings with 2/1s upstairs and downstairs (850 sq. ft.). Of the oceanfront cottages, the Ono room has the poorest views (only a piece of the ocean). $575 a night for the oceanfront units. They’re wonderfully located, but $575 is a lot to choke down. They also have a 450 sq. ft. studio for $175. The junior suites (575 sq. ft.) are large studios with a full kitchenette, private court yard, double shower and Jacuzzi tub for $325, and since they are so private, they are nice for couples. The decor in all rooms is eclectic—sort of old Hawai‘i meets country French. East of Pa‘ia off the highway in Ku‘au. This place can feel busy with the restaurant on-site, 250 employees and the traffic that comes along with that.
