"Thank you for your effort on the Maui book. I will be there Monday for the fourth vacation and each time gathered data to enjoy the next time. I learned more in the past day with your book than all other trips. A great book and I agree with your conclusions."

Aerial View

260 units, 2 pools, keiki pool, 2 spas, air conditioning, elevator, computers in lobby for a fee, free hi-speed or Wi-Fi Internet access in rooms, free parking, free 24-hour fitness center, shuffleboard, daily maid service, free room safes, restaurant (with 1,000+ different wines), lanais on most (Aloha Tower 3rd floor and above have standing-only balconies), bbqs. On 11 acres of land, the 5 buildings have poor views but are comfortably furnished. The Dolphin and Emerald buildings are the most popular, but they rightfully refer to them as “ocean side” instead of “ocean view.” Some other resorts would call them “ocean view,” though the ocean isn’t visible from the ground floor. So kudos to these guys for being honest. The ground level 2/2s are spacious and nicely laid out, albeit at a wallet-choking price. There are no ground level 1/1s. Low-rise 2nd story 1/1s have loft-type bedrooms with reduced privacy. The room decors are acceptable but not remarkable—some better, some worse. If you don’t like your room, ask for another. Grounds are fairly quiet and underwent a major overhaul since our last visit and are looking well-groomed and tropical. Their beach, next to Kahekili Beach Park, is excellent. Cabana chairs (2 people) by the beach are $35/day or $100 for a week. Late check-outs may use fitness room showers for free or pay a half day rate, if available, on their room. There is a mandatory $13 per day “facilities fee” that includes your room safe, parking, toll free (gee, thanks) and local calls. Rack rates are ridiculously overpriced, but most people get these rooms as part of a package at a much-reduced rate. Simple hotel-type rooms (304 sq. ft.) are $279–$399 and have only a mini-fridge (no kitchen), studios (660 sq. ft.) are $325–$539 (for up to 4 people), 1/1s (1,260 sq. ft.) are $359–$739, 2/2 suites (1,750 sq. ft.) are $599–$799 and have absolutely no view. The suites are very nice—but nowhere near $799 worth of nice.
