333 units, sand-lined pool and spa, 10 tennis courts, daily maid service, bbq, restaurant, Internet with the first set of numbers, coin-op laundry at one remote location. Kiahuna is popular with repeat visitors to Kaua'i. They are grandfathered into being allowed to build right up to the beach. Buildings 2, 30, and 31 really are beachfront. There are two separate on-site management companies: Outrigger and Castle. We recommend Outrigger; they're easier to work with. Local calls are $1.

Kiahuna exudes a relaxed, old world, plantation feel. The grounds are lush, well-groomed and mature. You'll see ancient monkeypod trees with huge bromeliads as well as lots of orchids. (Not to mention Kiahuna's trademark cactus and orchid garden.) Kiahuna is also blessed with being on a world-class beach, (Kiahuna Beach). It's backed by a huge lawn. (The entire resort is paved with bountiful grass.)

Most of the units have wood jalousies, which tend to make the rooms a bit dark.

There is a larger than usual spread in prices depending on proximity to, and view of, the ocean without substantial differences in quality of rooms. 1/1 units (880 sq. ft.) are $245-$479, 2/2 units (1,770 sq. ft.) are $385-$525. The top phone numbers listed are for Outrigger management, which has most of the rentals; the bottom numbers are for Castle Resorts whose rates are higher.
