48 rooms, pool, bbq, empty refrigerator, microwave, coin-op laundry, free local calls, free hi-speed Internet access in lobby. Located in Lihu'e in an out-of-the-way place, they may tell you that this was the first hotel on the island (from 1890), but it wasn't these buildings and it wasn't at this spot, so we're not sure what the distinction is. Regardless, it's a simple, clean hotel with comfortable rooms and a pleasant staff. The pool is only 3 feet deep, so you might want to pass on those practice high dives. No a/c in some rooms, and those rooms can get warm. No lanais on upper floor rooms. Avoid building 100--it's across the street from a public park that can get noisy at night. An acceptable place if you get the cheaper rooms. $99-$149 for the (approx.) 125-200 sq. ft. rooms. Continental breakfast included by the pool. Ask for discounts and specials.
