350 rooms, 4 pools, 2 spas, 7 conference rooms, poolside snack bar, valet parking, room service, health spa, fitness room, hi-speed Internet access, Web tv, PlayStation, free Wi-Fi in lobby area, restaurant, Internet cafe, fitness center, room service, coin-op laundry, empty refrigerator, coffee maker with free coffee, wedding coordinator, volleyball court, and lu'au. First a Hilton, then an Outrigger, then a Radisson and now a Hilton again, this resort has been through many changes. The latest owners included a $13 million upgrade to the property, pools, and rooms. The resort is now a condotel (individual owners for each room) with most of the units already sold at press time. The rooms all have the same pleasant plantation style decor that was part of the resort's recent upgrade.

This resort, located between Lihu'e and Wailua, is near a pretty but relatively unswimmable beach. (A short walk farther north leads to better parts of Nukoli'i Beach.) They've made up for it by installing a wonderful half-sand lined freshwater pool with a water slide to augment their other 3 pools. Service has improved markedly, to the point that it competes with higher-end resorts, and they keep things very clean. They have a complimentary nightly Polynesian show by the pool with free beer, wine and mai tais. Rooms are fairly small at around 360 sq. ft. If you opt for ocean view, ask for one of the ocean-facing end units of Bldg. 4.

They have a mandatory $13 per day resort fee that covers local calls, room safe, valet parking, fitness center, hi-speed Internet and some other items.

Rates are $329-$439. Suites are $525-$1,500. (Most suites are simply two rooms joined at the hip.) Many good discounts and packages are available.
