"Your books are incredible! I really mean that. You give reviews of little hole in the wall restaurants that we would have never found and would have never given a chance if we did find them... and we have never been let down... Your book is better than a good friend on the island because that friend won't do the exhaustive research that you guys do. We go places where most tourists would never find... You probably get 100 of these e-mails a day from satisfied users. I hope you don't grow tired of them. Your product is simply the best. We love Hawaii and we wouldn't know one quarter as much as we do about the islands if we didn't have your books. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for making our vacations deeply rewarding."
-- T. & B. Ross

216 rooms, 2 pools, spa, restaurant, lighted tennis court, room service (dinner only), fitness center, free valet parking (when staffed), hi-speed Internet access in rooms, free Wi-Fi in lobby and lounge, volleyball court, coin-op laundry, coffee maker with free coffee, empty refrigerator and a lu'au. Located adjacent to Lydgate Park (the safest place to swim on the island--they also have a playground), this resort actively pursues families with children. (Sometimes they even catch 'em.) From the Sony PlayStations in every room to the restaurant where kids under 12 can eat free, this place has a family-friendly feel. Rooms in Pikake Wing are larger (402 sq. ft.) than the Maile Wing (327 sq. ft.). Some rooms have bathtubs. No rooms have a lanai, which is unusual for a Kaua'i resort. They also have 26 cottages that are 510 sq. ft. These are a good value since they have a kitchenette, are very close to the Kamalani Playground and can often be had for $220. The resort was run down at press time and had just been sold. New owners were planning long overdue renovations. Currently one pool and spa are under renovations.

This resort's rack rates are ridiculous, but few pay them. Ask for the "Best Available Rate" (which we'll list in parenthesis), and it's this rate that makes them a Solid Gold Value. Garden views are $219 ($120), Ocean Views are $259 ($140), cottages are $359 ($220).
