6th Annual Jazz Festival on Friday at 7pm, the performance features Jazz Saxophonist Horace Alexander Young with the Gospel Divas, four extraordinary female gospel vocalists. Saturday at 7pm, the performance features Hawaiian vocalist and bassist Bruce Hamada with pianist Jim Howard, along with the Hot Club of Hulaville, a highly acclaimed gypsy jazz band. 19th Annual Eat Dessert First will be held from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Courtyard by Marriott Kauai at Coconut Beach in Wailua. Offerings include delicious desserts provided by Kauai chefs, sugar-free items, a chocolate fountain, fruit and cheese trays, silent auction and Valentine’s prize drawing (must be present to win). There will also be live island-style entertainment. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, ($15 tax deductible contribution). Children 4 and under are free. 2012 Waimea Town Celebration events are scattered over eight straight days and a two mile area and include an Hawaiian Outrigger canoe race, Hawaiian Cowboy rodeo events, Film Festival and cultural events at the Historic Waimea Theater, a 2k, 5k and 10k fun run, a mountainball tournament, and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. 10th Annual Kauai World Challenge is an international outrigger canoe paddling event. 3-day event begins with a “warm up” 10-mile paddle on Thursday on the North Shore followed by registration and expo on Friday afternoon at the Grand Hyatt (4pm-7pm). Saturday, the main event, the 34-mile coastal relay race begins at Wailua Beach park. OC1 and OC 2 teams paddle from Wailua Beach to Salt Pond Beach Park with paddler exchanges at specific relay points. Call 808-635-3053.

My Fair Lady Live on Stage is a musical based upon George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion and with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The story concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phoneticist, so that she may pass as a well born lady. 11th Annual Kaua'i Polynesian Festival at the Vidinha Stadium in Lihu'e. 11am-9pm daily. Tahitian, Maori, Samoan and Hawaiian entertainment, “Polynesian Experience” (hands-on arts and crafts activity), Polynesian Farmer’s Market, solo and group dance competitions, Hawaiian games, food booths, workshops, water slides, and much more. Pedal to the Meadow a bike ride from Kekaha to Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Kokee Sate Park. It starts on the west side of the island and climbs along the Waimea Canyon rim to the Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Kokee State Park a distance of nearly 16 miles with over 3,800 feet of elevation gain. It is a scenic and challenging climb that starts at hot dry sea level and ends deep in the cool wet upland forest of the Garden Island’s interior. 8am-11am $30.
