"I just wanted to write to tell you that your Hawaii guidebooks are the best that I have ever used. I almost wish that you had them for everywhere I visit! On our recent trip to the Big Island and O'ahu, we purchased the Big Island Guide because the island was new to us and the guide had some very good pictures, which is a necessity for me in a guidebook. I don't know anything worse than picking up a guidebook in the store that has all information and absolutely no pictures! It is not appealing at all and I have no desire to buy them. However, your guidebooks had great pictures to show us exactly what we would see before we arrived so that we could decide if it looked like a cool place to go. I also like the way the book is set up so that as we drove around the island, the sites corresponded with what was written in the book. It was also written from a resident's perspective and let us know the truth about the location, unlike other books that only have basic information and does not tell me what is worth seeing or not...Thank you very much for your time and I really hope to purchase more of your guides in the future. They are awesome!"

144 rooms, pool, restaurant, Wi-Fi in lobby, coin-op laundry, empty fridge, lanais, coffee makers in some with free coffee daily. Owned by the same family as the Kona Bay Hotel, rooms are decent sized and clean, but looking worn on our visit. The grounds were also in need of care (the koi pond especially), but at least the pool was clean. The lobby is funky--sort of a '50s Hawai'i as the mainland saw it. Superior type rooms are the best value. If you go oceanfront, get a wraparound lanai. Rooms are $104-$129, kitchenettes are $119-$134. Local calls are $.75. Car packages are available as well as other discounts; be sure to check.
