48 rooms, pool, bbq area, empty refrigerator, microwave, a/c in all (except rooms 306 and 207), coin-op laundry, free local calls, free hi-speed Internet access in rooms, free computer in lobby. Located in Lihu’e in an out-of-the-way residential area, they may tell you that this was the first hotel on the island (from 1890), but it wasn’t these buildings, and it wasn’t at this spot. Regardless, it’s a simple, clean hotel with comfortable rooms, nice grounds and a pleasant staff. The pool is only 3 feet deep, so you might want to pass on those practice high dives. No lanais on upper floor rooms. Avoid building 100—it’s across the street from a public park that may get noisy at night. An acceptable place if you get the cheaper rooms. $99–$139 for the (approx. 125–200 sq. ft.) rooms. Continental breakfast included by the pool with coffee and tea available all day. Ask for discounts and specials.
